Hood College – Shriner Hall
Hood College – Shriner Hall
Description
A student was reportedly attacked and stabbed while doing laundry in the basement of Shriner Hall. Despite her injuries, she managed to drag herself up the stairs before dying near the door of her dorm room. Some versions of the story say she scratched at the door for help; others say she called her mother and died while on the phone. A bloodstain is said to mark the spot where she fell, and reappears even after the carpet has been replaced.

Haunted Lineage note: The original Shadowlands Database entry for Hood College blended legends from multiple buildings on campus. This listing has been separated to focus specifically on Shriner Hall. The stabbing/murder legend is attributed specifically to Shriner Hall in multiple sources, including Hood College's own published campus history and the Folklore at Hood College archive. The specific claims — including the murder in the basement, the victim crawling up the stairs, and the reappearing bloodstain — could not be substantiated through news archives, police records, or historical documents at this time. This legend appears to be a well-established campus urban legend.
