Case Notes
Haunted Lineage note: Carousel Gardens was a restaurant housed in the historic Wooster Estate, a Victorian mansion at 153 North Street, Seymour, CT, built beginning in 1879. The location is reported to be haunted by the spirit of Helena "Ruth" Wooster, the last surviving Wooster to live in the mansion, along with her father William H. Wooster (founder of Seymour) and her brother Horace. The restaurant closed in 2009 and the building was demolished in 2010. The location is now a parking lot.
Reported activity included the sound of breaking glass (with no glass found), objects moving on their own (including a cash register and pots/pans), cold spots, curtains moving without cause, a ghostly cat with glowing white eyes, shadows, physical tugging on clothing, a feeling of being watched, orbs photographed throughout the dining areas, and coins (dimes and pennies) appearing from nowhere. The spirits were investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren in 1990.
