Payne-Gentry House
Payne-Gentry House
Description
A Victorian cottage built in 1870 as a summer retreat for Dr. Eldridge Payne. It is said that up to twenty-three ghosts are said to reside here, including a ghost dog which hangs around the big tree in back. The reason for so many hauntings is that some of them are former patients of Dr. Payne and the small cemetery under the tree in the back yard is said to contribute to the hauntings.
