Vortex

A Vortex is a localized area of intense, swirling energy that is often associated with high levels of paranormal activity. While often confused with portals, a vortex is frequently described as a spiraling electromagnetic force that can be detected by sensitive meters. Witnesses often report feeling dizzy or ‘pulled’ when standing in a vortex, and compasses or electronic equipment may malfunction within its radius.

Some researchers believe that vortices are natural occurrences caused by the intersection of underground water, mineral deposits, or magnetic anomalies in the Earth’s crust. These areas may act as ‘magnets’ for spiritual energy, drawing entities to them or providing the power necessary for a manifestation to occur. Mapping the perimeter of a suspected vortex can help investigators understand the ‘layout’ of a haunting.

A vortex of spiraling energy glows at the heart of a dense forest clearing, pulling leaves and debris into its magnetic swirl while mossy trees and underbrush frame the scene.
