Description

This 1835 mansion has a history as wild as its former mistress, Felicite Chretien. Known for smoking cigars and gambling with pirate Jean Lafitte, Felicite once shot an intruder on the staircase, and legend says the bloodstains still remain. The plantation survived the Civil War thanks to a Masonic secret between the owner and a Union general, though battles were fought right on the front lawn. Today, it’s a private residence rumored to be haunted by Felicite herself and the ghosts of soldiers.
