Previously listed as "Shimer College". The official name is Shimer College (Mount Carroll Campus).
The Mount Carroll campus, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, consisted of several historic buildings where students and staff reported various ghostly encounters. The college has since relocated multiple times.
