Haunted Lineage note: Previously listed as "Site where Bonnie and Clyde were killed". The official name is Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Site.

On the morning of May 23, 1934, Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker stopped at Ma Canfield's Cafe in Gibsland, Louisiana for breakfast sandwiches, then drove south on Louisiana State Highway 154 toward the home of Henry Methvin's father, Ivy Methvin, in Bienville Parish. A six-man posse led by Texas Ranger Frank Hamer — tipped off by Henry Methvin, a former gang member — had positioned themselves in the dense pine brush along the road. Ivy Methvin's truck was placed on the shoulder to slow the pair down. At approximately 9:15 a.m., the posse opened fire on Barrow's stolen tan Ford V8 without warning. The officers fired roughly 130 rounds; the coroner recorded 17 entrance wounds on Barrow and 26 on Parker. The car coasted into a ditch about 50 yards past the ambush point. The bodies were taken to Arcadia, Louisiana, where thousands of people descended on the town. The ambush site, located on Parish Road 300/LA Hwy 154 about 7 miles south of Gibsland near Sailes, is marked today by two granite monuments. Visitors and locals have long reported hearing unexplained gunshots at the site, particularly on full moon nights.
