Description
According to local legend, Peace Valley Road (known as Heartbeat Road) is haunted by the tragic story of a couple who were attacked by a crazed man in the woods, with the young woman being killed. The tale claims that if you park your car and turn off the engine at night, you can still hear her heartbeat echoing through the area.

Haunted Lineage note: While the heartbeat legend is well-known locally, historical accounts suggest the mysterious sound may have come from a pump house that was located near Peace Valley Road to manage flooding. Paul Francis, commenting on a 2012 Facebook post about the legend, noted that in the early 1970s when the road was still unpaved, the pump house was not working. He stated they never experienced anything paranormal themselves, though it was admittedly a creepy location.
