Lambertville High School (Demolished 2012)

Description

Lambertville High School was built in 1854. A fire destroyed much of it in 1926, but it was remodeled in 1927. Another fire in 1992 destroyed the school for good. The official closing date is June 1960. Local legends tell of "Buckeye Billy," a New Hope football player who died during a game against Lambertville. Two versions of the legend exist: one involves challenging Billy to a football game and getting hit by a phantom football, the other a race on the football field with ominous warnings. After closure, the building sat abandoned until the 1992 fire, and was demolished in 2012.

Case Notes
Haunted Lineage note: School was actually closed in June 1960 (not 1955 as some sources claim) when South Hunterdon Regional High School opened. The building was demolished in fall 2012.
