Woods on Church Street (off Rinden Road)

Many sightings of a ghostly cat figure have been reported in these woods. My boyfriend’s cat disappeared here under strange circumstances; no evidence was ever found. Some locals blame a creature called “Ames.” At night, witnesses have heard a man calling for his dog, seen a dog running loose, and report the animal vanishes or reappears behind those who pursue it, allegedly attacking them. No one has tested this rumor.
