Illinois Youth Center (Formerly – Youth Detention Center)

A former monastery turned juvenile detention center. Legend says monks hanged themselves in the 4th-floor attic. Now, on stormy nights, a phone at the control desk rings from a non-existent extension. You might hear heavy breathing on the line, strange noises, or see a white figure.

Shimer College (former Mount Carroll Campus)

Streamwood High School

The auditorium is supposedly haunted by a girl who died there many years ago. This reporter is a skeptic, but there have been numerous sightings of this spirit by a few reliable sources.
