Fort Mackinac

Fort Mackinac has its own collection of ghost stories and paranormal activity. The spirits of the post commander's children are said to haunt the officers' hill quarters. The hospitals located near and within the fort are reportedly haunted, with visitors experiencing an unsettling atmosphere of sickness that persists to this day. A skeleton was discovered in the "Black Hole" of the guardhouse, and now people report feeling the usual spine-tingling chills when visiting the reconstructed guardhouse. Additionally, there is said to be a phantom piper who walks along the stonework above the North Sally Port. This ghostly figure is only seen on misty mornings, and his music can be heard faintly echoing through the fort.
