Joplin Spook light
Description
This place has been haunted since Civil War times. A few different stories circulate. This stretch of dirt road in the country outside of town has even been featured on Unsolved Mysteries. A mysterious light wanders the road. – September 2004 additional info: Spook Light is also known as Devil’s Promenade. There are several stories about it, one was a miner with a lantern searching for his family. Some used to say it was swamp gas, but many have a strange feeling when witnessing it.
