Description
Feelings of dread, and not being alone and watched. None of the maintenance crew wanted to go to that floor by themselves.

Haunted Lineage note: UPDATE (2025) - This building was demolished in July 2025, just past its 100th anniversary (originally dedicated May 28, 1925). The City of Joplin, using state and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grants totaling approximately $1 million, coordinated the $400,000 demolition. Prior to demolition, environmental remediation was required to address asbestos, lead paint, and mold found throughout the structure. Demolition contractor Denton Excavations removed the structures, foundations, and footings. By August 2025, everything above ground had been cleared. The property was acquired by the Economic Security Corporation and is slated for redevelopment into affordable housing for seniors and veterans through the City's Home Investment Partnership Program (HUD funds), in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
