There is a lady in white who is said to haunt this salt mine and is looking for her child who got stolen and killed and her husband got killed in the old salt mine. If you go there at night you will see the lady in white.
Haunted Lineage note: This refers to the old Lyons Rock Salt Company mine (also operated by Carey Salt Company), which was opened in 1890 and closed in 1948. The mine shaft was subsequently plugged by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and is no longer accessible. Old plat maps put the center of the listing around: 38.3694874, -98.1740211 which is where we have placed the marker.
