Mount St. Mary’s University

Father John DuBois, founder of Mount St. Mary’s University, is said to still roam the campus grounds. The university, founded in 1808, is one of the oldest Catholic universities in the country. Father DuBois has been reported walking the campus in his long black robes, occasionally smiling and nodding at those who see him.

All Saints Catholic School (formerly Holy Rosary Catholic School)

During the night, there are noises in the pipes in all the bathrooms, hot and cold spots, weird smells down by the cafeteria that are on and off, footsteps have been heard late at night by janitors, and in the Computer Lab/Library books have been tossed across the room lying everywhere.

Mount Saint Charles Academy

Supposedly one of the former Brothers of the Sacred Heart (The brothers that run the high school) had died and was so disliked that the students stuck pencils in his eyes at his funeral. For revenge he is known to haunt the 4th floor and walk in and out of the rooms.  

Saint Genevieve – Downtown

Catholic Cemetery

Go south of Bolivar on 13 Hwy turn right onto the highway when you get to the tower with blinking lights you’ll be at the cemetery. It’s a pretty new cemetery cut into a hill but it’s haunted by a black figure.

Arcadia Academy

Built in 1840 as a Methodist High School and it also served as a hospital for Union forces during the Civil War. The Academy was purchased by Catholic nuns in 1877 and became a girl’s school until it closed in 1971. This beautiful Academy is now a Bed and Breakfast and an antique store. Pictures […]
