It’s been reported that a man was driving down this road headed for this specific turn, and he saw the ghost of the motorcyclist on his motorcycle — only to see the cyclist raise his hand to slow down and the man’s car stalled.

The Seymour Police Department posted on August 11, 2023, seeking information about a hit-and-run fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Great Hill Road. The suspect vehicle was described as a 1999–2004 Ford Mustang, dark red/maroon. No connection to a motorcycle fatality on Fountain Lake Road in Seymour could be found at this time. The Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments Regional Safety Plan also specifically identified Great Hill Road as a corridor with significant horizontal and vertical curvatures and speeding issues. The road's sharp turn referenced in the original story is consistent with these findings.
