Nicholls State University – Ellender Hall

Ellender Hall dormitory is reportedly home to flickering lights, moving objects, and phantom scratching. While rumors of a student suicide exist, no records confirm this. The activity is often linked to the campus being built on former Civil War hospital grounds.

Oak Alley Plantation

A plantation owner’s daughter reportedly lost her leg after a fall caused by her hoop skirt; visitors now feel pinches on those same stairs. The ghost of the owner’s wife is also seen riding her horse through the famous oak alley, searching for her husband.

Plunkett Hospital

Screams can be heard along with sightings of ghosts that usually resemble patients that may have died there. This buildings windows and doors are boarded up partially due to the fact that people have reported seeing ghosts in the windows looking outside.

Shimer College (former Mount Carroll Campus)

It’s a small school and the classes are held in old historic houses. Some of the students giving the tour explained their personal encounter with some of the spirits in the houses.

Honolulu Airport

Carts move by themselves near the garden area. The women’s restroom above gate 31 is supposedly haunted. Also near gate 31, a worker in the cockpit of an aircraft saw a bloody face in a gate area window near the same restroom. When the worker did a double take, the face was gone.

Naval Air Station Barbers Point

DuBois Hall is a dormitory at Mount St. Mary’s University with a history of reported paranormal activity. Students have reported toilets flushing on their own, window shades being pulled up and down, and unexplained voices coming from empty rooms. The building is named for Father John DuBois, the founder of the university.

Mount St. Mary’s University

Father John DuBois, founder of Mount St. Mary’s University, is said to still roam the campus grounds. The university, founded in 1808, is one of the oldest Catholic universities in the country. Father DuBois has been reported walking the campus in his long black robes, occasionally smiling and nodding at those who see him.

Ellicott City Firehouse Museum
