They say back in the old days around Lyman lake that there was a party there and a girl got raped and killed down there. If you go out there around midnight you can hear a girl screaming and sometimes (very rarely) you can see a faint glowing light over in the trees.
A little girl with long hair haunts this bed & breakfast. You can often hear her playing the piano. Sometimes guests can see her. She says she wants to go home.
Visitors have reported cold spots and sightings of apparitions within the historic hotel.
On the bottom floor, in one of the rooms near the front, a ghost appears dressed in late 1700s attire, including a triangle-shaped hat. The spirit has a weathered, leathery face and is dressed as a farmer rather than a soldier. It stands in one’s face and mumbles, though no intelligible words have been heard.

The Willow Steak House, historically known as The Willow Hotel, has reportedly been haunted since the 1800s. According to legend, an old gold mine collapsed beneath the building, killing 23 miners whose spirits now haunt the location.

In the Lafayette Lounge objects have been known to move of their own accord.
