Parker Heights Park: missing time over a fifth of a mile

As recounted in the Haunted Lineage article "One Fifth of a Mile, Gone Without a Trace," a late-night drive through Parker Heights Park in Quincy, Illinois turned into a baffling anomaly. What should have been a slow, seven-minute drive along the park’s winding rock-walled road resulted in nearly thirty minutes vanishing into thin air over a mere fifth of a mile, with zero memory of navigating the tight turns before suddenly emerging under the Highway 24 bridge.

Both passengers were completely sober and alert, yet a half-hour simply disappeared without a trace. Later on, the road was permanently blocked off to vehicle traffic and turned into a daytime-only trail. Have you ever experienced a sudden pocket of missing time on a familiar road where your surroundings seemed to skip forward?
