A mansion that is haunted by the family members who all allegedly committed suicide. The family was considered very strange, with underground entrances to their house. The home sits in the middle of the woods between two popular estates, the Mills Mansion and the Vanderbilt Mansion.

Designed by Calvert Vaux in 1855 for Lydig M. Hoyt, the estate known as “The Point” is situated within modern-day Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park along the Hudson River between Staatsburgh State Historic Site (Mills Mansion) and Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site.
