Lutheran Homes, now a nursing home, used to be an orphanage. There are said to be old tunnels underneath the building, though they have never been seen. Workers say that in one room on the 700 hall, every time a new patient is admitted, they soon pass away. Additionally, call lights in the 600 hall will turn on even when the rooms are empty. Residents claim to see children running at night and often ask the staff to tell them to be quiet. Behind the building is a small, closed cemetery consisting mostly of orphan graves, which has a “No Trespassing” sign. Visitors often report an uneasy feeling and a strong urge to leave.
