There is an old orphanage on Fisher Street that is rumored to be haunted. Legend says that children suffered severe neglect and abuse here under the care of the staff. In one prominent local story, a boy was punished so severely in the basement that he died from his injuries, and a clandestine funeral service was held there shortly after. Visitors to the abandoned structure’s basement late at night have claimed to see the ghostly apparition of a boy resting inside a glowing green coffin light.
Previously listed as “Old City Orphanage”. The official name was Holy Family Orphanage but it has now been turned into apartments.
The most active reported site of paranormal activity is within the property’s basement and the upper floors where the sound of children laughing has been documented.
