Haunted Lineage note: Kindred Elementary School was established in 1923 under South San Antonio ISD and served the local community for a century before permanently closing in 2023 due to district restructuring. Historical records confirm the origin of the school’s plane crash legend: on June 6, 1951, a USAF Boeing C-97A Stratofreighter (48-0398) out of Kelly Air Force Base suffered catastrophic engine failure shortly after takeoff and crashed in flames across the South San Antonio fields adjacent to Kindred Street and Barlite Boulevard, killing all nine military crewmen and trainees aboard.
