During the early ’60s, there was a killer loose in Madison Heights. He used to bury his bodies in the landfill, which is now a hill used for sledding right next to Lamphere High School. Every once in a while, you can hear insane laughter around the school.

Shimer College (former Mount Carroll Campus)

It’s a small school and the classes are held in old historic houses. Some of the students giving the tour explained their personal encounter with some of the spirits in the houses.

Urbana High School

It was said that a boy named David was killed on the front lawn of Plattsburgh High. And till this day he walks around during school and bumps into freshman and wanders the yard at night.

Hanover Countryside Elementary School

This small school is supposedly haunted by the ghosts of several teachers that have passed away in the years. Sounds have been heard ranging from bells to chains, to voices. Also lights seem to turn on and off by themselves.

Wisconsin Lutheran College

At least six different spirits have been witnessed repeatedly – a poltergeist, a singing nun, the mother superior, a janitor, strangely-laughing children and a malevolent presence have all been reported.

University of Vermont – Converse Hall

Converse Hall is haunted by a former student who committed suicide there. Though never seen, he turns radios on and off and interacts with electrical equipment. The student electrocuted himself in 1998.

University of Vermont – Allen House

Center for Cultural Pluralism AKA Allen House – Has a ghost on the top floor. Though it doesn’t manifest visually, a cold presence can follow one around from time to time.

University of Vermont – Jacobs House

Center for Counseling and Testing – The former director saw the ghost of Captain Jacobs, a retired seaman who died there in the early part of the 20th century. Also, mild poltergeist activity has been reported there as recently as 1992

Los Angeles Senior High School

There is a man who sings to Frank Sinatra songs wandering the theatre, sometimes he opens and closes the elevator door or sits in the audience section clapping unexpectedly. He is usually around, students and teachers have said to feel his presence moving around.
