Employees of The Old Spaghetti Factory claim to hear children playing in the basement restroom areas. Dishes are also known to fall to the floor, which is said to be the children playing games. A September 2004 update noted an emblem on the entrance that reads “Duarte High School 1904.” The building was originally constructed in the early 1900s as a high school, but it was abandoned in the 1960s after a new Duarte High School was built and students were transferred there.
Haunted Lineage note: Previously listed as ‘Spaghetti Factory’. The official name is The Old Spaghetti Factory. The address and listing title were updated to reflect the correct official name and location at 1431 Buena Vista St. Reports indicate the paranormal activity is centered around the basement restroom areas.
The building originally opened in 1909 as a five-room schoolhouse for Duarte before being converted. The Old Spaghetti Factory chain, known for renovating historical sites, later purchased and repurposed the building while retaining much of its early 20th-century memorabilia.
