Description

Alpha Xi Delta House is a historic home on Fifth Street. Built in 1855 by William P. Skinner, it later belonged to George White, an oilman and banker who became Ohio’s governor in 1930. Since 1955, it has served as the Alpha Xi Delta sorority house. Residents report a spirit called “George” who knocks items off walls, opens doors, turns faucets, and toggles appliances as if protective of the women. Rumor says he may trip an ill-intentioned suitor on the front stairs.
