Located in Downey behind the courthouse, there is an abandoned mental hospital where lights have been seen shining through the windows, despite the power being shut off for years. Witnesses have observed curtains closing on their own as they pass by the building. Those who have ventured inside and descended the stairs report experiencing pitch-black darkness, followed by the sudden, unexplained throwing of books at intruders.
