The Pink Rosebud Bed and Breakfast in Plattsburg dates back to 1878. Originally constructed as a simple four-room wood-frame cottage, the property expanded over the decades and was long known locally as “The Lion House” under the ownership of Mrs. Kate Bohart. After a period of abandonment following her passing, the building was completely restored into a bed and breakfast in 1996.
Today, the estate is known as one of Missouri’s genuinely haunted historic properties. Visitors and locals frequently report doors opening and closing entirely on their own, sightings of a phantom elderly couple wandering the premises, and the presence of a ghostly cat roaming the rooms.
