Infestation
An Infestation is a stage of paranormal activity characterized by a pervasive, escalating series of events that seem to saturate a location. Unlike a single spirit or a residual loop, an infestation often involves multiple types of phenomena: strange odors, physical movement of objects, disembodied voices, and visual sightings. It is frequently described as a ‘cloud’ of activity that grows more frequent and aggressive over time.
In many traditions, an infestation is seen as the initial phase of a more serious spiritual problem, potentially leading to oppression or possession. However, secular researchers often look for ‘focal points’ or ‘agents’—living people whose internal stress or energy may be unintentionally fueling the activity. Resolving an infestation requires a thorough mapping of the timeline to see when the activity first peaked and what environmental or personal changes triggered it.
