Haunted Lineage note: Founded in 1931 through the estate of philanthropist Georgia Brown Blosser, the Georgia Brown Blosser Home for Crippled Children on East Eastwood Street provided long-term convalescent care, physical rehabilitation, and schooling for youth recovering from polio and complex orthopedic surgeries. The facility operated as a dedicated pediatric rehabilitation residence for over four decades until evolving medical treatments and declining need led it to cease residential medical services in 1974, after which the endowment transitioned into community and youth trust funds. The building is now used as a dorm for Missouri Valley University.
